There's a lot of ways to keep the tips of your pyrography pens clean, but not all of them are good for your pen. Check out my video here:
DO's:
Clean your pens frequently
Be gentle! These are expensive tools and you want them to last as long as possible.
Use slightly damp scrap jeans while burning for a quick clean (I use this while pens are HOT)
Use leather strop & compound for a good clean when pens are completely COOL **make sure all the compound is off before burning**
DON'T'S:
DON'T use anything abrasive like sandpaper, wire brushes, etc. This will destroy your tips. Thank me later.
DON'T be rough!
There's lots of leather strops & compounds you can find with a quick Amazon search or through any wood-burner supplier, but here's the one I use: https://a.co/d/1o8Fo71
The compound will last you literally forever. I bought this last December and as you can see in the video, I've barely used any (I don't clean my tips as often as I should BUT still, you see my point!).
